The building of the blacksmith and crafting workshop, founded by Egri brothers in the last quarter of the 19th century, was built in the style of eclecticism. It is designed according to the then applicable regulations for industrial facilities. It consists of a workshop in Colar-Kovka with tools and examples of finished products.
It was built with brick as a ground-floor building of a rectangular base, covered with pepper tile. By the 1960s, it was in function, and since the ’80s, it has been arranged in a museum setting made up of tools and finished products of the former workshop.
Testifying about the craft skill, according to which the masters of Backa Topola were widely known, the Egri brothers’ workshop, as an example of the projected facility for the Cold and Blacksmith Workshop, was for the middle, in which the meaning of the industrial embryo came into being. As a characteristic monument of the North Backa craft and the last workshop in its original form, testifies about the masters of collars and blacksmiths who in this field managed to create a special type of horseshoes, the so-called “Topolska kocija”.
