HOUSE IN PERE SEGEDINCA STREET

A residential building is a typical example of the Pannonian-Vojvodinian house. It was built in 1878. It belongs to the type of “swap house” and has all of its features such as entering the house over three steps from the street. From the courtyard side is the gong, from which it enters all the rooms. In the rooms there is a stove with a bank, and in the kitchen there is a stove. The house has even a chamber for storing food, a attic for storing cereals, auxiliary rooms and stables in the extension of the house, a large yard with an orchard, amber, pig, field evening. The gates were initials of the first owner (GH) and the year of construction -1878.
The house was erected after a great fire that destroyed a large part of the building fund at a time when the present appearance of the city was formed. It was built as a ground-level building for residential purposes, set at the intersection of two streets, harmonious proportions, traditional interior layout and richly decorated street facades. With completely preserved authentic constructive and design elements, the cultural monument is a typical example of a banat house from the end of the XIX century, with the features of eclectic architecture, which points to a transitional stage in the development of a village home in the city.
