The building was built in the style of classicism. In Novi Kneževac there were several facilitators. To date, only the owen in the property of Karol Chepe has been preserved. This facility is a rarely preserved, old mill facility, whose former economic importance was great. The oil that produced the oily, or “olaj” was important for human consumption, because it replaced the fat. Olajnica stopped working in 1941. According to the oral statement, the facilitators were bought in Bocar and are about 200 years old. It was for some time owned by the Society of Jews, which it sold in 1877, and in 1885 it was transferred to the present place. The then mechanism of the relief was composed of wooden parts. An iron press press was bought in Szeged and brought about in 1888.
Olajnica is made up of a mechanism placed in two rooms that are connected by a common wall. The main parts of the mechanism of the facilitator are: bicycle-horizontal, mill, carton with mixer and press. In one department, the wheel is horizontally positioned, and in the second mill, a bowl with a stirrer and a press. The main part of the facilitator is to mention the horizontal wheel through which the driving force of the horse moves all the other parts.
In parallel with the initiation of the protection procedure, the gearbox was transferred to the “Lepenka” factory. In the 1990s, a new initiative was launched to transfer it to the Museum of Industry in Belgrade, but this was not done due to the disagreement of the experts. In the meantime, the mechanism is completely devastated, and the remains of parts are located in the courtyard of the National Library. Unfortunately, the remaining parts can not be reconstructed.
